Remote Office Essentials

Updated: Nov 7, 2023

For those new to the remote work life, you may have discovered some common challenges while adapting to a new office set up. Welcome to the club :) As a nomad that has been working remotely for 5 years now, I have a compiled a list of my must have remote office essentials that I simply cannot work without. So whether you are on the road or working from home, consider this list of things to add to your tool box.

Laptop Stand

Depending on how much space you want to take up, there are a few different options when choosing a laptop stand for your remote office. I opt for the travel friendly FYSMY Ergonomic Portable Computer Stand. This laptop stand could be adjustable in height and angle of your laptop for your healthy body posture to minimize neck fatigue or spine problems. No tools needed for adjustment, just a push or a pull depending on you need. Also it is foldable for easy storage and designed handle hole for easy carrying.

Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse

Now that you have the stand, you'll need a new place to type from. Again, I went with the compact foldable keyboardtravel option that's light and can fit just about anywhere in my bags. But in regards to the wireless mouse, I am team apple, and the magic mouse is a real thing of beauty. Highly functional and intuitive, I've had it for years and have yet to find a mouse that is more comfortable to use.

Noise Canceling Headphones

By far the best investment you'll make for your remote office. If you're working from home and have the.....blessing.... to also have your kids around all the time.... more power to ya. This one is definitely for you. For us on the road, working from cafes and airports usually comes with a similar chaotic atmosphere and being able to zone in and focus is an absolute must. I am a big fan of Bose, and have to give props to the QuietComfort 35 II Wireless Bluetooth Headphones. Why?

  • Three levels of world-class noise cancellation for better listening experience in any environment

  • Alexa-enabled for voice access to music, information, and more

  • Noise-rejecting dual-microphone system for clear sound and voice pick-up

  • Balanced Audio performance at any volume

With just those few things, you have the complete list of remote office essentials. I do have quite a few more things I bring with me as I travel, but all follow the the laws of nomading; Light, compact, and ESSENTIAL! Nomading is all about living the minimalist lifestyle, and learning what is really important in life. Experience over material possessions always.

Peace and love ya'll :D
